This Basswood carving is based upon one of the Wyeth's (Can't remember which) painting of an Indian standing in the water with a Goose on his back. You can see that Wyeth based his painting on the sculpture "David" by Michelangelo. The carving stands approximately 14 inches tall.
He got his name from the fact that as I was carving him, I cut 5 instead 4 slots for the toes on his right foot. He therefore wound up with 6 toes on his right foot. I wasn't aware of what I had done until an old buddy looked at him and saw the 6 toes.
The carving is in a private collection.
